King James Bible

The King James Bible

Introduction:

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." (Proverbs 3:5-7)

Since I received Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour I have had a great desire to know and do His will. I have been willing to lay aside my own beliefs in lieu of His Word. At first I believed that all Bible translations were the same and at first used the NASV and the NIV. I have been examining and reexamining Biblical issues for a long time and believe sound BIBLICAL doctrine is of utmost importance. After over 20 years of examining the Doctrine of the Bible I am convinced that the only perfect English version is the KJV. The versions are different, and as a wise man said: "Things that are different are not the same!"

We will here examine these two issues: The Holy Spirit has preserved the Word of God; and Satan has continually tried to corrupt it.

1. God promised to preserve His Word:

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, THOU SHALT PRESERVE THEM from this generation for ever." (Psalm 12:6-7)

"The counsel of the Lord STANDETH FOR EVER, the thoughts of his heart TO ALL GENERATIONS." (Psalm 33:11)

"For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." (Psalm 100:5)

"The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They STAND FAST FOR EVER and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness." (Psalm 111:7-8)

"... the truth of the Lord ENDURETH FOR EVER. Praise ye the Lord." Psalm 117:2

"For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." (Psalm 119:89)

"Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast FOUNDED THEM FOR EVER." (Psalm 119:152)

"Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments ENDURETH FOR EVER." (Psalm 119:160)

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall STAND FOR EVER." (Isaiah 40:8)

"As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from HENCEFORTH AND FOR EVER." (Isaiah 59:21)

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matthew 5:18)

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but MY WORDS SHALL NOT PASS AWAY." (Matthew 24:35)

"But the word of the Lord ENDURETH FOR EVER. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." (1 Peter 1:25)

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 22:18-19)

2. The Holy Spirit guided the Apostles in writing and completing the New Testament record, and He has guided Christ's churches in gathering, assembling, coping, translating and guarding it:

"Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall shew it unto you." (John 16:13-15)

"... behave thyself in the house of God, which is THE CHURCH of the living God, the pillar and ground of THE TRUTH." (1 Timothy 3:15; Cf. John 17:17: "... Thy Word is Truth.")

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20; cf. "Observe" carries the same meaning as "keep," i.e. guard (Cf. Matthew 28:4). It is translated from the same Greek word.)

John 14:15, 21, 23-24: "If ye love Me, KEEP my commandments. ... He that hath My commandments, and KEEPETH them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him. ... If a man love Me, he will KEEP my words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. He that loveth Me not KEEPETH not My sayings: and the Word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me."

John 15:10, 20: "If ye KEEP My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have KEPT My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. ... Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have KEPT My saying, they will KEEP yours also."

John 17:6: "I have manifested Thy name unto the men which Thou gavest Me out of the world: Thine they were, and Thou gavest them Me; and they have KEPT Thy Word."

1 John 2:3-5: "And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we KEEP His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and KEEPETH not His commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But whoso KEEPETH His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him."

1 John 3:22, 24: "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we KEEP His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. ... And he that KEEPETH His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."

1 John 5:2-3: "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and KEEP His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we KEEP His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous."

Revelation 1:3: "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and KEEP those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."

Revelation 3:8: "I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast KEPT My Word, and hast not denied My name."

Revelation 3:10: "Because thou hast KEPT the Word of My patience, I also will KEEP thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

Revelation 12:17: "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which KEEP the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Revelation 14:12: "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

Revelation 22:7: "Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that KEEPETH the sayings of the prophecy of this book."

3. The Word of God is alive, and only life begets life:

"For THE WORD OF GOD IS QUICK, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12; The word "quick" means alive.)

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by THE WORD OF GOD WHICH LIVETH and abideth forever." (1 Peter 1:23)

"Of his own will BEGAT HE US WITH THE WORD OF TRUTH, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. ... Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and RECEIVE WITH MEEKNESS THE ENGRAFTED WORD, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:18, 21)

Note: the Word is the "seed" that, if received, regenerates the believer. It is also symbolized by "water" in the Bible. The water of John 3:5 speaks of the life giving Word of God.

"... Except a man be BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." (John 3:5-7; cf. Eph. 5:26; Isa. 55:10-11; Ps. 119:9; John 13:5-10, 15:3, 17:17)

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, BY THE WASHING OF REGENERATION, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour." (Titus 3:5-6)

Just as the Word of God is instrumental in regeneration by passing its life into our hearts, it is also essential that it be preserved. This has been done through careful coping and translation by those to whom the task was delegated by God. Dedicated members of, not of the Roman Catholic, but of the churches of the Waldenisians, Novationists, Dontatists, Montanists, Paterines, Cathari, Paulicians, Petro-Brussians, Arnoldists, Henricians, Albigenses, et. al. who were all branded as Anabaptists (meaning another baptism, because they rightly rejected Catholic baptism as invalid). God through these preserved His Word. They copied and translates and spread the Word far and wide and gave their lives in the process. They translated Hebrew and Greek into Latin and many other languages.

Finally, just as God "... breathed into [Adam's] nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7), He also breathed life into His Word (2 Timothy 3:16). And just as Adam produced living children, so likewise translations derive their inspiration from the parent. The Bible is either inspired or it is expired. You know what I believe and now you know why I believe it.

4. Satan greatly desires to corrupt God's Word:

"For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ." (2 Corinthians 2:17)

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, YEA, HATH GOD SAID, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, YE SHALL NOT SURELY DIE: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and YE SHALL BE AS GODS, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:1-5)

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be FALSE TEACHERS among you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom THE WAY OF TRUTH SHALL BE EVIL SPOKEN OF. And through covetousness shall THEY WITH FEIGNED WORDS MAKE MERCHANDISE OF YOU: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." (2 Peter 2:1-3)

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

Irenaeus (115-202 AD), Pastor of Lugdunum in Gaul (now Lyons), gives us some history behind Gnosticism which was the first satanic attack against Biblical doctrine. Irenaeus was the disciple of Polycarp (70-156 AD), Pastor of the Church in Smyrna, who was taught by the Apostle John. It was John who wrote his First Epistle against Gnostic corrupters (i.e. 1 John 1:5, 2:23, 4:3 5:7) whose teachings are similar to Rosicrucianism and our many faceted modern New Age Movement. Irenaeus tells us that Simon the sorcerer (Acts 8:9-13, 18-24) was regarded as the father of Gnosticism. The people of Samaria called Simon "the great power of God" (Acts 8:10; cf. Mark 14:62; Luke 22:69). John was present in Samaria when Peter rebuked Simon for trying to buy the power of the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:14-24). According to Irenaeus Simon the sorcerer's faith was feigned and he used incantations, love-potions, charms, exorcisms, and was in contact with beings called "Paredri" (familiars) and "Oniropompi" (dream-senders) [Against Heresies 1.23]. Hippolytus (170-236 AD), Pastor of the Church in Portus near Rome, records that Simon allegorized the scriptures in order to support his false teachings, especially Genesis [Refutation of all Heresies 6.5-10]. Irenaeus also tells us that Gnosticism received its doctrines from pagan Greek philosophers like Pythagoras, Homer, Plato, Aristotle, and others [Against Heresies 3:3]. Some of the major heresies of Gnosticism include:

1. There are 30 gods (Aeons) outside of time and space (Pleroma or Fullness). [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.1-3] (Isaiah 45:5, 46:9)
2. The goddess Sophia created a tyrant creator angel, Demiurge (The God of the Old Testament), who was not aware of the Aeons and thought he was the only God. Demiurge created man but Sophia gave him spirit. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.5] (Psalms 34:8, 100:5, 135:3, 145:9)
3. Sophia sent the serpent (an angel) into the garden of Eden to free Adam and Eve. By eating of the tree Adam and Eve were set free through true knowledge (gnosis). However, Demiurge raped Eve many times and she gave birth to other evil creator angels (serpent seed doctrine). [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.30] (John 8:44; Revelation 12:9)
4. Some people are predestined to hell, while others are saved by doing enough good works. Others have spirits sent forth from Sophia predestinating them to salvation regardless if they act good or evil. So the most "perfect" of them addict themselves to evil deeds and are in a habit of defiling the women they convert. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.6-7, 4.37] (2 Peter 3:9; Romans 3:19-20; Ephesians 2:8-9; Luke 13:5; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)
5. All matter is evil and not capable of salvation. It will eventually be destroyed. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.7, 23] (Luke 24:39; Philippians 3:21; 2 Peter 3:12-13; Revelation 21:1)
6. Mantras to effect nature (as in Hinduism and Kabbalah). [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.14-15] (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
7. Perfect knowledge is obtained by baptism, spiritual marriage and last rites (sacramentalism). [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.21] (Titus 3:5; Galatians 2:16)
8. At death some souls enter an intermediate state to be purged of the animal nature (Purgatory) before going into the Pleroma (Fullness). [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 2.29] (John 19:30; Hebrews 10:10)
9. Reincarnation. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 2:33] (Hebrews 9:27)
10. Christ descended upon Jesus at his baptism and left before He went before Pilate (adoptionism). Sophia wouldn't allow Christ to suffer. [Irenaeus, Against Heresies 1.7] (1 John 5:7; John 1:14; Matthew 1:23; Micah 5:2)

There is a chain link line of Gnostic heretics that lead us directly to the the corrupt new versions of today. Men like, Justin Martyr (100-165 AD), and his disciple Tatian (120-180 AD), and his disciple Clement of Alexandria (150-215 AD), and his disciple Origenes Adamantius (184-254 AD), and his disciple Eusebius of Caesarea (263-339 AD) who prepared 50 copies of Origen's corrupted bible manuscript for Emperor Contantine (272-337 AD) who became the leader of the embryonic beginning of the satanic Roman Catholic Church.

Conclusion:

These are indisputable Biblical and historical facts that help us understand the importance of our Bible.

The "scholars" do the exact same thing that the Roman Catholics do. They indicate, " You are not capable of understanding the Bible alone, but we must interpret the Bible for you." Don't let them fool you! They do not only err in their interpretation, but change the true Word of God into a lie as Satan did for Eve in the Garden (Genesis 3:1-5).

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." (2 Peter 1:20)

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH; COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL." (1 Corinthians 2:12-13)

"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:" (Isaiah 28:9-10)

"As newborn babes, desire the SINCERE MILK OF THE WORD, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." (1 Peter 2:2-3)

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20)

There was never a team of scholars assembled to rival the KJV translators. Mostly devout Bible believers, they rejected outright the Gnostic Vatican Manuscript, and accepted the Received Text and Scriptures of the ancient Waldenisian church. King James' instruction #14 said that they were to use the 6 previous English translations (Bishop's, Tyndales', Coverdales', Matthews', Whitchurch's, and the Geneva) unless they deviated from the Greek and Hebrew. Knowing this fact gives meaning to the words of Psalm 12:6-7:

"The words of the LORD are PURE WORDS: AS SILVER TRIED IN A FURNACE OF EARTH, PURIFIED SEVEN TIME. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."

The sevenfold purification of the English Bible included: 1) the Bishop's Bible, 2) Tyndale's Bible, 3) Coverdale's Bible, 4) Matthew's Bible, 5) Whitchurch's Bible, 6) the Geneva Bible, and 7) the King James Authorized Bible.

"The king‘s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." (Proverbs 21:1)

The only way that the Father shows us Truth in this Church Age is through His complete, inspired, infallible pure Word applied to our hearts by the Holy Spirit. If we do not have a perfectly preserved Bible then God is a liar and we have no hope, but He has and we do have a sure Bible hope. It is not possible that anything in the KJV can be wrong. It is perfect and pure. God says so!

"But whoso looketh into THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." (James 1:25)

Don't fall into the same fallacious satanic trap that Eve did (Genesis 3:1-5).
