"Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him [Rapture], That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ [Tribulation] is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [Tribulation] shall not come, except there come a falling away [Apostasy] first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition [Antichrist]; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4)
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith [Apostasy], giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." (1 Timothy 4:1)
Backlash brewing over Obama's anti-faith actions
Bishop calling for mass exodus from Democratic Party

A new poll shows that 40 percent of the youth vote, virtually in Barack Obama’s pocket four years ago, now is going to likely GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney; a one-time strong supporter of Obama now is campaigning for Romney and a Democratic committeewoman in Pennsylvania has left not just Obama but the entire Democratic Party.
Now with just weeks to go before the 2012 presidential election,
Bishop E.W. Jackson, chief of the “Staying True to America’s National Destiny,” is urging that those individual actions become a flood.
He – and others – say the Obama administration simply has included among its goals the diminishment of faith and Christianity, and that’s not right.
“There is a concerted effort to do away with all symbols of our Judeo-Christian culture, to deny our right of conscience in matters of faith and to attack Christians, Catholic and Protestant, who dare to speak openly of their faith,” Jackson said. “However, there is a silver lining in all of this. This may be an opportunity for an historic shift in the cultural and political direction of our country if Christians of all races will unite in rejecting the godless left agenda of the Democratic Party.”
In the Washington Examiner just today, there was a report that
40 percent of the youth vote now is backing Romney. The report, citing pollster John Zogby, said that would be trouble for Obama, who needs every young voter he can get.
Then on CNN, reports confirmed that a former four-term
Democratic congressman from Alabama, Artur Davis, who once was a strong supporter of Obama, is campaigning for Romney.
It was several seeks ago when former Democratic Pennsylvania committeewoman Jo-Ann Nardelli, who also served as president and founder of the Blair County Federation of Democratic Women, announced that she was leaving the Democratic Party for the GOP.
Jackson now is calling on people of faith of all races to begin a mass exodus from the Democratic Party, echoing concerns expressed by a number of high-profile Christian groups over Obama’s treatment of the faith of the nation’s fathers.
“This is not my father’s party,” Nardelli told the National Catholic Register at the time of her decision to change affiliations. “I did not leave the party, the party left me.”
She noted until Obama, there always was room for pro-lifers, who express the Bible’s perspective on abortion and the unborn, and their views in the Democratic Party.
“I thought I could make a difference to change our party. … It didn’t work,” Nardelli explained. “I noticed that it’s been going more and more to the left.”
Jackson, a candidate for the U.S. Senate in Virginia a couple months ago, believes that the relentless White House attack on Christian values warrants an all-out exodus from the party in office.
“Now we have found that in September, the Democratic Party is going to declare same-sex marriage an official plank of the party platform,” Jackson said. “This is nothing short of a declaration of war against Bible-believing Christians, and it will have far reaching implications.”
He said this current administration has chosen to fight God.
“They will be spitting in the face of every Bible-believing Christian in America,” Jackson asserted about the Democratic Party’s stance on social issues. “They will be saying, ‘We don’t care what you think, what you believe, or what the Bible or the God of the Bible says. We know better than God.’”
Jackson, a Harvard Law School graduate, describes the Democratic Party as having a “cult-like devotion” to abortion with its consistent attack on biblical family values and on those who support them.
“The Democratic Party has turned its back on Christians,” Jackson argues. “It is time to turn our backs on the Democratic Party.”
He reminded Americans that the very policies they have voted to protect have been disregarded by the current administration, which refused to pick up the last Bush administration’s legal battle to uphold the federal Defense of Marriage Act in court.
“That the Democrats would do this, in spite of the fact that voters have overwhelmingly voted for [state] constitutional amendments to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman, shows that this party has decided to rebel against the people and against God,” declared Jackson. “Just as with Obamacare, they will shove down our throats what they determine is best, regardless of the Constitution or the will of the people.”
Jackson said Obama’s abortion advocacy alone is problematic. Worse yet is the Obamacare requirement that employers provide contraceptives and abortifacient drugs to employees.
“To kill babies for our convenience is the equivalent of an idolatrous offering to the god of ‘sexual license,’” Jackson stated in his official stance on abortion. “It is no different than in times past when pagans offered their babies on an altar of fire to assure their own good fortune. Our fortunes as a nation lie in accepting responsibility for our actions, not running from them or destroying unborn children to avoid them.”
Jackson also claims that the direction the U.S. has taken over the years in the name of tolerance and diversity has the ultimate effect of dividing citizens and blurring their true heritage as Americans rather than uniting them in the truth of our past.
“We have been made to feel ashamed and to deny the nobility of our republic,” Jackson said in his stance on the teaching of what popularly is known as multiculturalism. “It is time to reclaim and restore that nobility. It is time to end the historical revisionism that [academia] and other extremist and anti-American political forces have pressed upon the American people and our institutions. We have Black History Month and Gay Pride Month, but these only serve to further balkanize us. It is a sad commentary on our culture that many find it appropriate to celebrate sexual orientation, but not our common heritage and culture.”
Jackson refers to recent attacks on Christian expression as a representation of the political and moral climate espoused by Obama administration.
“The response to Dan Cathy of Chick-fil-A exposed the left for the hateful people they are,” Jackson attests. Cathy’s chain of Chick-fil-A stores faced criticism for Cathy’s statement of support for traditional marriage. In light of that, Gov. Mike Huckabee organized a day of support for the restaurant chain, resulting in hundreds of thousands of customers lining up for hours at Chick-fil-A stores across the nation.
But the bishop was calling out Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s threat of a city-wide ban on Chick-fil-A and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s denouncement of Cathy’s pro-family stance that he dubbed as being anti-”gay” marriage.
Jackson went on to cite criticism of an American Olympic gold medalist by journalists for the progressive online magazine Salon.com, Mary Elizabeth Williams, who he considers to be a “Democratic operative.”
“Even 16-year-old Gabrielle (‘Gabby’) Douglas, Olympic Gold-winning gymnast, was attacked for daring to give glory to God for her win,” Jackson said. “Progressives are indeed ‘unnerved’ by devout Christians. That’s why they resort to ridicule, even of a 16-year-old Olympic medal winner.”
According to Jackson, these attacks are just the tip of the iceberg. He cites attacks launched by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Freedom from Religion Foundation and others against towns and governments to remove any references to Christianity in the public square.
Christian legal organizations such as Liberty Counsel, the American Center for Law and Justice and the Home School Legal Defense Association have defended citizens’ constitutional rights to religious expression protected by First and Fourteenth Amendments.
Jackson said if voters don’t break their allegiance to the Democratic Party and cast their ballots to preserve the biblical foundation upon which America was built, they will give those in office free rein to continue this nation’s destructive path.
“May we turn back to the direction our Founding Fathers set for us of freedom, opportunity and respect for our Constitution and our God-given rights and the vision of one nation under God,” Jackson said. “This may well portend the beginning of the black community rejecting its long enslavement to the Democratic Party, in spite of its anti-Christian agenda.”
While not every organization has called for a mass exodus from the Democratic Party, other top Christian legal organizations have called on Americans to join the fight against the Obama administration over the assaults on Christianity.
The
American Center for Law and Justice got nearly 15,000 Americans to sign a petition to “defend the rule of law against an imperial presidency” when it protested Obama’s move ordering the Department of Justice not to defend the law set by the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
“It’s a power-grab of unprecedented proportions, an out-of-control move that exceeds constitutional limits,” ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow declared, regarding Obama’s order to the DOJ to cease its legal defense of DOMA. The law was passed by Congress and signed into law by former President Clinton. “Why? Simply because he doesn’t like it.”
Sekulow points out that Obama not only shirked his duty as president, but acted as a tyrant when he refused to defend marriage and declared DOMA unconstitutional.
“The Constitution specifically provides that the president shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed … and this includes defending those laws in court,” Sekulow said. “The president and his Department of Justice have an obligation to defend and enforce existing laws – even a law they don’t like, unless the Supreme Court of the United States were to declare it unconstitutional. The president is not a king who can unilaterally decide what our laws are. America is a constitutional republic, not a monarchy.”
The
Liberty Counsel also has much to say about the president forwarding his anti-Christian policies, especially with regard to health care and the military.
“Obamacare is the biggest expansion of federal government since the New Deal,” Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver contends. “If federal bureaucrats can force every American to buy health insurance, then the government can force everyone to buy, for instance, health food, or a particular brand of motor vehicle.”
Getting past the authoritative and un-American aspects of Obama’s health care policy, Staver illustrates how the controversial plan will affect Americans’ pocketbooks and end up killing preborn children.
“Further, Obamacare will seal the fate of Americans by adding trillions of dollars more to the national debt,” Staver added. “Obamacare represents the biggest federal funding of abortion in history.”
Staver also explains how Obamacare will attack religious freedom.
“In addition to abortion, a recent Obamacare regulation now requires most religious organizations to provide birth control coverage, along with abortion-inducing drugs,” Staver asserts. “Liberty Counsel will not rest until Obamacare is gone, either through the court challenge or through repeal by the legislature!”
Liberty Counsel also calls out the Obama administration for its blatant advocacy of the homosexual agenda to undermine marriage, the family and national security.
“At the president’s urging, Congress repealed the military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy and thus converted our armed forces into a training ground for sexual perversion,” Staver recounted.
Staver further notes a declaration Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made within the past year at a United Nations meeting in Geneva.
“[She] announced … that the Obama administration would engage in ‘a wide-ranging effort to use U.S. foreign aid’ to promote the rights of ‘gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered persons,’” said Staver. “Such immoral policies will inevitably destroy our culture!! We must get America back on the right moral track.”
